Great article. I agree with the 'you can't just have one bag of Lays'. Junk food is my downfall but taking off the pounds takes a lot of patience and commitment.
Oh, absolutely. I have pretty firm routines now, but three years ago I was 350 pounds and now I'm 254, and I haven't "dieted" once in all that time -- but I've eliminated sugar, nixed most of my alcohol, and I've stopped snacking. But eating WELL makes it feel like I don't deny myself pleasure. I eat cheese, butter, bacon -- but I don't eat sugar. I'm more of a savoury person anyhow, thank god, but yeah. It's consistency about making better choices that are sustainable for the lifestyle you lead. What those choices are -- that's different for everyone and it took a long time till I figured out what worked for me. But no processed food has clearly made a difference.
