Reckon on, Steffani! I hope that lots of people get to read what you wrote and that some of them will have just enough desperation and have enough hope for something better that they can take what you have written both to heart and to action. I love reading your food/ cooking posts on Facebook and after reading this I will enjoy them all the more. When I was an anemic adolescent and only craved spaghetti noodles with Hunts canned tomato sauce, red licorice and Tootsie Rolls, my father, in desperation took me first to New York City and then SoCal to see other doctors about changing the predictable trajectory of my health. The doctor in California, who wrote a book called, Food is your Best Medicine put me on some god-awful blender concoctions, but ultimately my father took on food as the greatest source of healing. I grew taller and filled out more than either of my sisters or my mother. I love to cook and your posts inspire me further. You are saving your own life and that brings tears to my eyes, routing for you all the way!

I love that you share the highs and the lows of your journey because that's what makes it so #$%^ inspiring! I can relate to so much of it especially now as I'm recovering from knee replacement surgery, but as I said before, you've made me think it might be possible to ride a bike again. Fingers crossed!
